Make Maritime Great Again

Reopening the Horizon of the Past

In the 1970s and 1980s, maritime industries were the most preferred careers.

With an average competition ratio of 20:1,

the maritime industry grew alongside the global economy and became a national backbone industry.

South Korea has developed with an export-focused economy.

In 2010, the country ranked 5th in the world in merchant fleet ownership.

However, after the Hanjin Shipping crisis, it lost competitiveness and is still in the process of recovery.

In 2024, South Korea recorded the world’s largest shipbuilding orders.

However, the industry is constantly struggling with labor shortages.

Even though it could take on more orders, it is forced to hesitate.

South Korea was once the world’s top producer of tuna.

However, with major fishing nations like Norway heavily investing in specialized talent,

the country lost its workforce and saw its competitiveness weaken, dropping to 5th place.

Yet, the maritime industry continues to expand, and we must innovate.

To reclaim past glory, we strive to bring in more people and better people.

We lead innovation.

We support innovation.

We walk this path together.
